How to Take Care of Your Skin This Winter
Hello beauty lovers, skincare junkies, and mindful readers! Whoever you may be, you will find a home here at Glove Beauty. My name is Sara Mummert, and I am the Product Specialist & Content Manager at Glove in Downtown Bozeman, MT. This is also my debut as a *journalist* (we will see how it goes). I have complete confidence in myself, LOL. With that said, welcome to Glove’s first-ever blog post!
Today, I will take you through the trials of winter in Montana, specifically, how to transition from the crisp, cool fall to the roaring, snowy winters. Many of us in Montana are accustomed to winter sports like skiing, snowboarding, and sledding. While these are fun activities, they do take a toll on your skin. It is critical to give your skin some extra care in these cold, dry months. Therefore, it’s time to switch from gel moisturizers to thick oily balms. It’s also time to switch from the light & fast absorbing oils to the ultra-hydrating oils that last all day. During this time, ensure you’re using a cleanser that does not strip your skin. Last but not least, make sure you are taking care of your body after a long day of cold weather.
I know how easy it is to love your squeaky clean cleansers, and oil cleansers are not for everyone. A great alternative is a foam cleanser. There are not many foaming cleansers on the green beauty market, but the Nuori Foaming Cleanser is one of a kind. Nuori Foaming Cleanser removes dirt and makeup without stripping your skin. It contains pomegranate enzyme and radish root extract to exfoliate dead skin cells and lightly add antioxidants. Oat kernel extract, as well as natural betaine, kills inflammation and leaves your skin feeling calm. It also contains botanical glycerin to trap moisture and prevent your natural oils from stripping. This revitalizing, soothing, and smoothing cleanser is perfect for all skin types. If your skin is dry and you do not prefer oil cleansers, you need to try this.
Do you ever feel like your skin is super dry when you wake up in the morning? Does your skin immediately soak up all the moisturizer you apply? You probably aren’t getting enough moisture. Remember when you were a teenager and slathered your face in Aquaphor because your face was so dry? the Furtuna Replenishing Balm is the grown-up, better-for-you version of that. I apply the Furtuna Replenishing Balm on top of a thick moisturizer and wake up with incredibly smooth, supple feeling skin as if I had just drunk a gallon of water. Aside from my personal five-star review, this balm is clinically proven to repair your skin’s natural protective barrier. This balm contains wild organic carrot, dandelion, hawthorn, St. John’s wort, and spirulina to soothe, replenish, and repair your skin. Whenever anyone asks me what my favorite product at Glove is, it is always this one.
If you still need more hydration but do not prefer the oiliness of a balm, try out the Odacite Very Dry Skin Serum. The Odacite Very Dry Skin Serum is lightweight but packs a punch. Only a few drops are the perfect dost for intense hydration all day, eliminating all dry, itchy, red patches on your skin. This oil contains Moringa and Petitgrain to deeply nourish your skin. If you participate in winter sports, this oil will prevent the dry, chapped feeling you get after a few runs on the slope and soothe your skin after a day in the cold.
Your face is not the only thing that goes through it after a long day on the slope; there are body pains a hot bath can’t cure. The Nature of Things Superlative Body Balm is the answer to all your problems. It contains menthol and arnica to relieve pain and tension in your muscles. Ginger, Turmeric, and Boswellia cure any inflammation in your joints. Jojoba oil and shea butter leave your skin feeling silky soft, and hydrated. This ultra-thick body balm will cure all your problems this winter.
As it gets colder outside, your skin will get drier. It is unfortunate for us all, but it's life. However, Glove Beauty has many products readily available to help you tackle the frost. If you are having trouble dealing with your skin this winter, there is no doubt the products we discussed will help you.
